WELCOME
If you are a beginner in photography and using a point and shoot this is it for you. I am an amateur photographer first, flickrite second and lastly, a blogger. Most info blogs concentrate on the world of digital single lens reflex (dslr) camera. Here I will concentrate on the pros and cons (mostly the pros) of the point and shot (p&s) camera. I will attempt to chronicle my various adventures with my weapon of choice: a point and shoot Canon G7 and it’s older sibling the IXUS i. I will be sharing techniques that works for me in photography and post processing dooh dahs in Photoshop CS2. This blog idea came about after reading through tons of material on what camera to purchase when the Canon Ixus i broke down. At which point, I was going through a hard time whether to keep on the p&s tradition or upgrading to a dslr. The dslr idea was really catching on for it’s versatility and having a bigger digital sensor that could capture virtually any detail. Then a huge imaginary slap upside the head later, I stopped the wet dream. I just wasn’t ready to lug around a lot of gear. I used to do that many years ago with a film slr. I still remember the complains from my muscles. Here’s another blog and photo page that I maintain on a regular basis. The first Shooting Point blog thats more photos and less wordy. Then there’s my flickr page where every shot gets uploaded to. Don’t be shy, take a look and tell me what you think. Thanks!
